不同形貌CaCO3负载β成核剂对PP性能的影响

Effect of β-Nucleating Agent-loaded CaCO3 Particles with Different Morphologies on Properties of PP

摘要: 将3种不同形貌的碳酸钙(CaCO3)(立方体、纺锤形、球形)填充聚丙烯(PP)树脂,考察了未负载CaCO3和CaCO3负载庚二酸对PP结晶性能和力学性能的影响。结果表明,未负载的CaCO3主要起到增刚的作用,其中纺锤形CaCO3对PP力学性能的影响最小;负载β成核剂后的CaCO3起到增韧的作用,出现了明显的β结晶峰;立方体CaCO3对PP的刚性影响最小,纺锤体CaCO3可将冲击强度由最初的4.48 kJ/m2提高到5.57 kJ/m2;负载庚二酸后,CaCO3粒径越小其增韧效果越好。

Abstract: Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) particles with cubic, spindle and spherelike morphologies were used as supporters to load heptane diacid as a βnucleating agent.The thermal behaviors and mechanical properties of PP blends with pure CaCO3 and heptane diacidloaded CaCO3 were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry and universal testing machine.The resultsindicated that the addition of CaCO3 improved the stiffness of PP blends, and the spindle CaCO3particles presented the least effect on mechanical properties.The incorporation of heptanediacidloaded CaCO3 not only improved the impact toughness of the blends but also generated a significant β-form nucleation effect on PP domain.The cubic CaCO3 particles could maintain a good stiffness for the blends, whereas the spindle CaCO3 particles exhibited the best toughening effect.The PP/sphere-like CaCO3 blends achieved a maximum improvement in impact strength up to 5.57 kJ/m2 compared to pure PP with the impact strength of 4.48 kJ/m2.On the other hand, the toughness of the blends was improved significantly with a decrease of the particle size of heptanediacid-loaded CaCO3.
