无机硅化合物与磷杂菲/硼酸酯双基分子复合阻燃环氧树脂的研究

Effects of Inorganic Silica Compound and Phosphananthrene-borate Molecular Hybridon Flame Retardant Properties of Epoxy Resin

摘要: 将磷杂菲/硼酸酯双基分子复合阻燃剂(ODOPB-Borate)分别与有机改性蒙脱土(OMMT)和二氧化硅(SiO2)复配制备了阻燃环氧树脂(EP)。并通过热失重、极限氧指数、锥形量热燃烧实验、扫描电子显微镜等研究了含硅无卤阻燃剂OMMT、SiO2与ODOPB-Borate的协同作用对EP阻燃性能的改善。结果表明,OMMT,SiO2分别与ODOPB-Borate复配可有效提高EP的阻燃性能,当阻燃剂的添加量为4 %(质量分数,下同),且OMMT/ODOPB-Borate和SiO2/ODOPB-Borate的质量比均为1∶7时,EP的极限氧指数分别提升到38.8 %和38.5 %,达到UL 94 V-0级;OMMT和SiO2的添加降低了EP/ODOPB-Borate体系的热释放速率(HRR),提高了其阻燃体系的屏障保护作用,并优化了气相和凝聚相阻燃效应的分配,证实了OMMT和SiO2与ODOPB-Borate之间存在协同阻燃效应。

Abstract: The flame retardant epoxy compounds were prepared by mixing phosphoheterophene-borate molecular hybrid (ODOPB-Borate) with organic modified montmorillonite (OMMT) and SiO2,the synergistic effect of silicon-containing halogen-free flame retardants consisting of OMMT, SiO2 and ODOPB-Borate on the flame retardant performance of epoxy resin was investigated by means of thermogravimetric analysis, limiting oxygen index (LOI) and cone calorimetry. The results indicated that a combination of OMMT, SiO2 and ODOPB-Borate could effectively improve the flame retardant effect on epoxy resin. When 4 wt% of binary-combined flame retardant was incorporated at the OMMT/ODOPB-Borate or SiO2/ODOPB-Borate mass ratio of 1/7, the resulting epoxy compound achieved an LOI of 38.5 vol%~38.8 vol% as well as a UL 94 V-0 classification in the vertical burning test. Based on the experimental results in this work, the introduction of OMMT and SiO2could reduce the heat release rate of epoxy/ODOPB-Borate compounding system, improve their barrier protection, and optimize the distribution of flame retardant effect in the gas phase and condensed phase. These results confirmed a synergistic flame retardant effect between OMMT, silicon dioxide and ODOPB-Borate.
