Abstract: Poly (lactic acid) (PLA) was blended with maleic anhydridegrafted linear lowdensity polyethylene (PE-LLD-g-MAH) by a meltmixing method, and the crystallization behaviors, rheological properties and morphologies of the resulting blends at different content of PE-LLD-g-MAH were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, rotational rheometer, scanning electron microscopy and polarizing optical microscopy. The results indicated that the crystallinity and melt elasticity of the blends were both improved with an increase of PE-LLD-g-MAH content, and a “seaisland” structure was clearly observed. Moreover, the cell sizes of PLA blending foams decreased but their cell densities increased with the addition of PE-LLD-g-MAH.
