Application of Static Thermal Stability Experiment in Selection of Ca/Zn Thermal Stabilizer for PVC Transparent Hard Products

Abstract: The thermal stabilizing function of Ca/Zn system in transparent rigid PVC products was compared with organic tin. It was found that the 194# Ca/Zn stabilizer had the best overall performance, the stabilization time was comparable with organic tin. For the weightloss property, the flaky stabilizer was poorer than, and the powder stabilizer was comparable to organic tin. The 194# Ca/Zn stabilizer resulted in higher transparency and lighter discoloration, which met the requirements for transparent rigid PVC products.
