Abstract: Based on the study about the effects of two phosphate ester hydroxyaluminum salt nucleating agents NA-21 and TD-531 on the crystallization process of coal based impact copolymer polypropylene, the mechanical properties of impact copolymer polypropylene can be controlled. The results indicated that the both nucleating agents are PP α Type nucleating agents, which could significantly increase the crystallization peak temperature and nucleation density of PP, thereby accelerating the overall crystallization rate of polypropylene and achieving a dual improvement in rigidity and processing efficiency. Among them, the nucleating agent TD-531 had a more significant effect on improving the performance of PP compared to NA-21. When the addition amount was only 750 ppm, it could not only increase and decrease the crystallization peak temperature and semi-crystallization time of PP to 131.8 ℃ and 0.35 min respectively, but also increase by 10 ℃ and decrease by 5.48 min compared to virgin PP. At the same time, the flexural modulus and impact strength of PP were increased to 1377 MPa and 68.9 kJ·(m2)-1, respectively, compared to virgin PP by 330 MPa and 22.3 kJ·(m2)-1, demonstrating excellent rigidity toughness balance, which was closely related to the excellent dispersion effect of this nucleating agent.
