Abstract: Abstract: The poly(butylenes terephthalate)/(propylene)(PBT/PP) blends compatibilized by poly(ethylene-octene) (POE-g-GMA) grafted glycidyl methacrylate were prepared by melting using torque rheometer and were characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM), dynamic rheological testing, differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) and polarizing microscope(POM), respectively. It was clear that the introduction of POE-g-GMA into PBT/PP blends results in, (1) the size of particles in the PBT/PP system decreased and the interface between phases became obscured, (2) new macromolecular chains with a prolonged the relaxation time formed, which increased the system viscosity and finally created a kind of gel network structure, (3) the crystalline property of the PBT/PP blends showed component-dependence.
