Study on Polypropylene/Talc Composites Toughened by POE

摘要: 以共聚聚丙烯(PP)、滑石粉和聚烯烃弹性体(POE)为主要原料,采用双螺杆挤出机制备了PP复合材料;研究了POE含量和样条放置时间对PP复合材料力学性能的影响;采用扫描电子显微镜对复合材料脆断面和经蚀刻后的断面形貌进行观察。结果表明,POE含量为7 %时发生脆韧转变;POE含量大于11 %时,冲击强度增加趋缓;样条放置24 h后,冲击强度随时间的变化不大;POE分散相的尺寸随POE含量的增加而减小。

Abstract: The co-polypropylene (PP) based composites with talcum powders and polyolefin (POE) were prepared by melt extrusion using a twin-screw extruder. The effects of POE content and storage time on mechanical properties of the composites were investigated, and the fractography of the composites was observed by scanning electron microscopy. The results indicated that a brittle-ductile transition occurred at POE content of 7 wt %. The impact strength of the composites increased gradually with the addition of POE over 11 wt %. There was little change in impact strength after the composites were stored for 24 h. The increase of POE content resulted in a decrease in the size of POE dispersed phase.
