The effect of vibration on the crystal structrue of isotactic polypropylene

Abstract: Lately, vibration technology of polymer melt has been widely studied as an effective way to morphology controlling. In the injection molding samples of IPP prepared with vibration field, WAXD shows that shear force can induce the formation of βcrystal but there exists a optimal shear value, shear force will destroy the unstable βform crystal when it exceeds this value. It also shows high pressure vibration injection is propitious to the formation of γcrystal. SEM and PLM test show that vibration field brings about orientation of sphere crystal in the melt flow direction and reduction of the sphere size.
