Abstract: Allyl ether novolac (AEN) was synthesized by allyl chloride and novolac, then the AEN was changed into allylic novolac (AN) by Claisen rearrangement rule at high temperature, that made the curable type from condensation to addition. The allylic degree, curing process, transition mechanism and heat resistance were investigated. It was found that the novolac with high allylic degree, prepared by different allyl chloride consumption, were cured fast than low one. The addition-curable resin was rearranged at 245 ℃ and cured at 330~350 ℃, and the heat resistance was better than condensation-curable resin because of less inter defects.
