Abstract: Self-healing microcapsules were prepared by solvent evaporation method with polysulfone as shell, tung oil as core materials. The encapsulation parameters, including the kinds of dispersants, stirring speed, and mass ratio of core material to shell material were studied The surface morphology, particle size, shell thickness, encapsulation efficiency of microcapsules, and thermal properties were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, optical microscopy, thermogravimetric analyzer, and other techniques. The outer surface of the microcapsules was smooth and compact when the gelatin/PVA solution acted as dispersants, the mass ratio of core to shell was 1.3:1, stirring speed was 700 r/min, and the average particle size was about 130 μm. The microcapsules was stable at 350 ℃. Epoxy resin anticorrosive coating was prepared by using the synthesized microcapsules. Salt spray test revealed that the prepared self-healing coating exhibited an excellent corrosion resistant function.
