Grafting Polymerization of Styrene on Surface of Modified Graphene Oxide

Abstract: In this work, graphene oxide(GO) was surface modified by silane coupling agent γ-methacryloxy propyl trimethoxyl silane, and then styrene was grafted onto the surface of the surfacemodified GO for the purpose of flame retardancy. The resultant (GO-KH570)-g-polystyrene (PS) was characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscopy.The results indicated that (GO-KH570)-g-PS was successfully prepared.
