Abstract: In this work, graphene oxide (GO) was first prepared by the Hummers method and then was surfacemodified with isophorone diisocyanate to obtain the isocyanatemodified GO. The polyurethanematrix composite foams were prepared by incorporation of the isocyanatemodified GO. Effect of the isocyanatemodified GO on porous structure, thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of the composite foam were investigated. The composite foams achieved the maximum compressive strength and compressive modulus with the addition of only 0.5 % isocyanatemodified GO. However, there is no distinct influence on thermal conductivity observed. Moreover, the composite foams also gained an improvement in glass transition temperature and energy storage modulus.
