Abstract: The cross-linked high-density polyethylene high integrity container (PE-XHD-HIC) has been applied to deal with low-and middle-radioactive wastes of nuclear power station. A security assessment for PE-XHD-HIC was performed by the nonlinear dynamics software LS-DYNA to simulate its anti-falling and anti-penetrating performance at a height of 1.2 m under the two typical actual accident conditions of nuclear power station. The simulation results indicated that the stress of PE-XHD-HIC was less than its ultimate strength, whereas its maximum strain was less than the damage strain. The PE-XHD-HIC was verified to meet all the requirements in operation and security.
