Design of Metal-powder Injection Mold Based on Hot Runner and Two-step Demolding Technology

Abstract: Based on the structural characteristics of parts and the metal powders plus polyamide molding characteristics, a metal-powder injection mold was designed, and its molding parts, side corepulling mechanism, gating system, die release mechanism, fixed distance classification mechanism, orientation system and temperature control system were mainly studied to determine a reasonable mold structure. Through designing a combined structure of hot runner casting, two ejection mechanisms and straight pipe plus buffle-type well cooling water channel, the molded part achieved dimensional tolerance in the range of 0.4 % of the basic dimension. Moreover, the angle tolerance and surface roughness reached 0.5 ° and 0.8, respectively.
