Abstract:

The three car front class brackets, including a failure bracket from Chongqing, Southwest China, a failure bracket from Guangzhou, South China and a normal man-made damaged bracket, were observed and comparatively analyzed using Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, depth-of-field microscope and scanning electron microscope. The effect of isopropanol on the brackets was also investigated. The results indicated that isopropanol had little effect on the brackets. There were different degrees of defects and cracks in the bottom coating part and the degumming part of the two failed brackets, indicating a decrease in the interface binding force of the bonding parts. This directly resulted in the falling off of scaffold. The thickness of the base coat had a great influence on the interface adhesion of the bracket.
