Abstract: The capacity expansion method of twinscrew extruder was studied which based on energy equivalence principle. The finite element method was employed for the analysis, and the mixing characteristics was evaluated by parameters of average deagglomerating energy, the logarithm of area stretch ratio, and the modified Lyapunov index. It showed that the satisfy mixing performance could be obtained by adding two discs at the mixing section and the production output increased 15 %.
