Abstract: The polyketone (PK)/PA66 blends were prepared by a melting extrusion method and their morphology, crystallization behaviors and mechanical properties were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimeter and mechanical performance measurements. The results indicated that the PA66 domain dispersed in the matrix exhibited a small particle size and uniform distribution at a low content. The impact strength of the blends is 29.5 kJ/m2 at the PK/PA66 weight ratio of 80/20 in a dry state but 4 times as much as that of pure PK in the wet state. Moreover, the strength and modulus of the blends were also improved significantly. However, when the PA66 content was relatively high, the domain size of PA66 phase increased remarkably, followed by a decrease in impact strength. The introduction of PA66 reduced the crystallinity of PK significantly.
