An Experimental Investigation on Wall Slip of Different Polymer Melts

摘要: 采用毛细管流变仪研究了聚丙烯(PP)、高密度聚乙烯(PE-HD)、聚苯乙烯(PS)和聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PMMA)4种聚合物熔体的壁面滑移,考察了壁面滑移速度(vs)与剪切应力(σw)、温度之间的关系以及壁面滑移对熔体流动性的影响。结果表明,在4种聚合物熔体流动过程中,σw满足一定条件时,均有壁面滑移现象产生;随σw的增加,vs值明显提高,两者之间呈幂函数关系;随温度的升高,发生壁面滑移的临界σw降低;壁面滑移对熔体流动性的影响与聚合物种类有关;且流动通道直径越小,影响越显著。

Abstract: Wall slip behavior of melts of polypropylene, high-density polyethylene polystyrene and poly(methyl methacrylate), was studied by a double capillary rheometer, and effects of shear stress and temperature on wall slip velocity (vs), and wall slip on flow of the melts were investigated. The results indicated that a stick-slip transition was observed for the four polymer melts vs increased as a power function of shear stress, and the critical shear stress for the onset of stickslip transition decreased with an increase of temperature.It was also observed that the effect of wall slip on melt filling behaviors was relative to the type of polymers, which became more significant with the decrease of channel diameters
