Abstract: Biodegradable PHBV/PHBHHx blends were prepared by means of solventcasting method. The effect of PHBHHx on the thermal and crystalline properties of PHBV was investigated using differential scanning calorimetry and polarized optical microscopy. It showed that the cold crystallization temperature of PHBV shifted towards higher temperature with the increase of PHBHHx content in the blends. PHBV/PHBHHx blends exhibited banded spherulites. Furthermore, the banded spherulites of PHBV/PHBHHx blends became regular and clarity gradually with increasing PHBHHx content, and the band spacing became smaller.
