Abstract: Two polypropylene (PP)matrix lubrication systems were prepared by a melt-blending method using ethylene bis bisstearamide (EBS) and bishydroxyethyl ethylene bisstearamide (HBS) as lubricants, and their melt flow rate, complex viscosity, tensile strength and the release of volatile organic compounds (VOC) were investigated. The results indicated that both EBS and HBS generated good lubrication for PP, and HBS exhibited a much better lubrication effect on PP than EBS, and the lubrication system containing 1 wt % HBS achieved an increase in melt flow rate by 404.8 %. Both HBS and EBS could inhibit the release of VOC in PP effectively, but the inhibitory effect of HBS was stronger than that of EBS.
