Advances on the research of halogen-free flame retardant thermoplastic elastomers

Thermoplastic elastomers(TPEs)are of rubber elasticity at room temperature，and capable of being processed at high temperature like thermoplastics. Due to such excellent performances，TPEs have been widely used in many industry fields and commercial applications. However，the inherent molecular structures of TPEs lead a high flammability with dripping during the flaming fire, which limits their utilization. In recent years，with the improvement of requirements in flame-retardant and environmental performances of materials，more and more researches have been focused on the halogen-free flame retardant TPEs. The present work summarized the latest research development of the halogen-free flame retardant thermoplastic polystyrene elastomers，polyurethane elastomers and olefin elastomers.

Progress of the UV Aging Resistance of Poly-p-phenylene benzobisoxazole Fiber

As a kind of rig-rod-like polymer, Poly-p-phenylene benzobisoxazole (PBO) has received great interest because of its excellent mechanical properties and good thermal stability. The use of PBO fibers, however, is limited due to its low sunlight stability. Therefore it is necessary to study the UV aging and UV aging resistance of the fiber．This article reviews the recent research progress of study in the UV aging and UV-aging resistance of PBO fiber. Further more，UV aging process and photo aging mechanism of PBO fiber is also discussed．The aging resistance of PBO fiber can be improved by perfecting the structure of fiber and adding appropriate UV-aging agent. And some methods of PBO fiber chemical modification are introduced in this article.

The Preparation Methods and Advance of Plastic based Nano/mesoporous Dielectric Materials

The progress of ultra large scale integrated circuit (ULSI) needs novel low dielectric content dielectric materials and the introducing of nano/mesopores into the materials is a effective method to decrease the content. A short review regarding the preparation principles, typical products and the past decade development of low-k dielectric materials based on polymers was given including reprecipitation, sol-gel, thermolysis, supercritical foaming and electrochemical etch methods. It has been demonstrated that the advanced porogenic methods and porogenic mechanisms aiming at the ULSI field ought to be studied, the heat resistance and the water absorbent of the dielectric materials ought to be depressed and improved respectively.

Effect of Oxazoline Conversion Rate on Toughening ABS/PET Alloy with Oxazoline-functionalized ABS High rubber

Oxazoline-functionalized ABS high rubber powder(oxa-ABSHR) was synthesized via reaction between ABS high rubber powder and aminethanol in o-dichlorobenzene solution. Various oxa-ABSHRs of different oxazoline conversion rates were produced, and they were applied in ABS/PET blends. Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) indicated that oxazoline groups had been introduced onto ABS high rubber powder successfully. The differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and rheological tests demonstrated that PET was partially miscible with ABS because oxazoline groups have reacted with PET end groups. The scanning electrons microscopy (SEM) showed that PET particles dispersed in ABS matrix more regularly and the diameter was smaller. When adding 6wt% oxa-ABSHR whose oxazoline conversion rate was 50%, the izod impact strength of blends increased 102%. Key words: oxazoline-functionalized; toughen; blends

Study on the relationship between structure and its static thermal properties of PVC

Study on the relationship between structure and its static thermal stability of PVC. Using GPC, IR, NMR and SEM tests to analyze its structure; And its static thermal stability is characterization by Oven method, Congo red test, TG and so on. The results showed that, the smaller the molecular weight, the more content of allyl chloride and higher ratio of syndiotatic structure, the pooer thermal stability of PVC. On the contrary, the thermal stability is better. And All the static thermal property test results are consistent.

The Preparation of Reinforced and Toughened Polypropylene by nano-SiO2

It is difficult for nano-SiO2 to combine with polymer to form a strong combine, due to small size,high surface energy and easy to reunite.In this thesis,firstly,PP/SiO2 masterbatches were prepared after the surface processing of nano-SiO2 with silane coupling agent and dispersant,then PP/SiO2 composite materials were prepared by extrusition with maleic anhydride grafted PP as compatilizers.The results showed that the tensile strength of composite materials up to 44.7MPa,the notched impact strength up to 21.9kJ/m2,which had increased by 49% and 158% compared with pure PP separately. Consequently,the composite materials can replace ABS in the automotive,household and other industries.

Preparation and Properties of Soy Protein Isolate/PVA Blending Materials

Polymer blends were prepared by thermo-pressing mixtures of soy protein isolate(SPI) and poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) using glycerol as a plasticizer. The properties of the blends were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry analyzer, thermogravimetry analyzer, universal electronic tensile testing machine, and scanning electron microscopy. The SPI/PVA blends possessed better compatibility when the content of PVA was lower. As the increase of PVA contents, there was the second Tg of SPI/PVA blends at the around of 130℃, and its glass transition temperature was higher. The addition of PVA significantly boosted the thermal stability, and the 24 h water absorption of SPI/PVA decreased from 85.5 % to 54 %, When the content of PVA was 30%, the tensile strength of SPI/PVA increased by 237 %, compared with pure SPI.

Study on Toughening Modification of PET/POE Blends

TMPTA was introduced into PET/POE blends as a crosslinking agent. The property and structure of the obtained material were characterized using cantilever impact tester and SEM，etc.The impact strengths of the materials containing 1%or 3%TMPTA increased by 3 and 2. 5 folds，respectively, compared with pure PET.

Hydrophobic modification of ammonium polyphosphate and its application in flame retardant polyethylene

In this paper, ammonium polyphosphate (APP) was surface modified with octadecylamine and the wettability was measured by static contact angle. The contact angle reached 136°, which indicated the modified APP possessed excellent hydrophobic property. APP and modified APP mixed respectively with char-foaming agent (CFA) with the ratio of 4:1 and added to polyethylene (PE) to prepare flame retardant PE materials. The flame retardant property is tested by the limiting oxygen index (LOI) and UL-94 test, the mechanical property is measured by tensile and bending, and the water resistance of the materials is tested by the boiled method. The results showed that, compared with the unmodified APP, the surface modification of APP slightly decreased the flame retardancy of the PE materials, but improved the compatibility of the flame retardant and polymer which resulted in the enhance of the mechanical property of the flame retardant PE materials. Moreover, the surface modification of APP greatly enhanced the water resistance of the flame retardant PE, and the extraction rate of the flame retardant material is only 0.12% when the loading of the flame retardant is 25%.

Synthesis of Soybean oil-based Soft Polyurethane Foams with Water as the Sole Foaming Agent

The soybean oil polyols were prepared by used epoxy soybean oil as raw material and used methanol as open loop reagent. The soybean oil polyols which hydroxyl value in the range of 80-170 mgKOH/g were obtained through controlling the reaction time. The best formula was obtained through exploring. Then, take the soybean oil alcohol replace the traditional polyether polyol partly and added to the formula. After foaming time, flexible PU foams were obtained. The products were taking various mechanical analysis and the results show that the mechanical properties of flexible PU foams are reach national standard requirements. The tensile strength can reach 0.13MPa above and the elongation at break can reach 150% above.

Study on Rheological Properties of PVC/M-80 blends

The rheological properties of PVC/M-80 blends was studied with a high pressure capillary rheometer and HAKKE torque rheometer. The effects of the content of the M-80 and processing conditions on the rheological properties of PVC/M-80 were investigated. The results show PVC/M-80 melt blends system is a typical non Newtonian pseudoplastic fluid; the balance torque and melt temperature decrease with the increase of the content of M-80, the balance torque linearly reduces with the increase of the processing temperature, but the effect of rotor speed on rheological properties is not obvious in conventional processing range.

The Application of SBS on the Material of Low Gloss ABS

The effects of SBS on the gloss and mechanical properties of ABS material were studied, and comparisons of cost and performance with inorganic powder matting agent were made. The results showed that SBS had good matting effect and improved the processing performance of material while other mechanical properties decreased. Compared with organic powder matting agent, the cost of SBS was comparatively low.

Influence of EVA on the Mechanical and Rheological Properties of Recycled Agriculture Films

Blends of recycled agriculture films (RPE) and Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) were prepared by the twin-screw extruder at different ratios and pelletized. RPE served for matrix in this work. Virgin low density polyethylene (LDPE) was used as a contrast. The blends were blowed into thin films by single-screw extrusion. Mechanical and rheological properties of the blends were carefully evaluated and compared with virgin LDPE. The results show the tensile properties of the blends changed a little and elongation at break increased dramaticlly with the addition of EVA. The elongation at break and tensile properties of films made by RPE/EVA(50/50) blend was similar to virgin LDPE. The rheological properties of RPE have improved. The blends show potential applications in good performance products.

Study on Properties of MCPP Film Modified with EMMA Resin

MCPP film was prepared via three-layer co-extruded casting process，which was modified through blending EMMA with aluminized resin. The influence of the amount of EMMA on haze, stiffness of MCPP, as well as the aluminum adhesive strength of MCPP film was studied. It showed that when 20%EMMA was blended，the MCPP exhibited a 1%secant MD modulus of 568 MPa，haze value of 7. 40%，and an adhesive strength with aluminum of 1. 38 N/15 mm. The modified MCPP film could meet the requirement of metalizing technology process，and the adhesive strength of aluminum layer and film was greatly improved.

Research on cutting defect of Aramid fiber composites

In the cutting of aramid fiber composites various defects may appear，such as layered，flanging，spinning，napping，and charring. This paper analyzed the cutting process of the aramid fiber composite, some measures to avoid the defects were proposed. Using high strength and toughness tool material with good wear resistance, using cutting tools with special helical geometrical parameters, pre-clamping，and pre-coating of the composites were proven effective.

A new type of cross-linking agent on the influence of ACR toughening PVC

Use the ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a new type cross-linking agent by the seed emulsion polymerization method synthesized a series of different cross-linking agent content of the acrylic core/shell toughening modifier (ACR) used to toughening modification of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. By changing the content of cross-linking agent and testing a series of performance for ACR and ACR/PVC blend. Data presentation: When cross-linking agent content increased, the degree of cross-linking grafting degree grafting efficiency and glass transition temperature(Tg) have been raised. When cross-linking agent content was 0.4% the mass ratio of ACR/PVC blend was 8/100 ACR/PVC blends would take place brittle-ductile transition and the impact strength was 1145J/m. Preparation of Novel Triazine-based Charring Agent and Its Flame Retardation on Polypropylene

A novel triazine-based charring agent (CA-ODA) with alternative triazine ring and benzene ring as main chain was prepared from cyanuric chloride and 4, 4 ’- diaminodiphenyl ether, and then mixed with ammonium polyphosphate (APP) to act as the flame retardancy of polypropylene (PP). The effects of different mass ratio of APP/CA-ODA system on the thermal stability and flame retardancy of PP were studied by thermogravimetric analysis and cone calorimeter. The results indicated that CA-ODA has good thermal stability and excellent charring performance, alternative triazine ring and benzene ring could accelerate the charring performance of PP, so the APP/CA-ODA system improved the flame retardancy of PP effectively. When the total content of APP/CA-ODA was 25%, and the mass ratio of APP to CA-ODA was 2:1, the peak of heat release rate of PP was reduced from 1046 kW?m-2 to 334 kW?m-2, and the char residue could reach to 41.5 %.

The control and simulation of temperature for injection molding machine based on self-adaptive fuzzy PID control method

There were many shortages in the traditional PID control systems for injection molding machines，such as great control deviation, slow rate of regulation, etc. In order to control the temperature accurately, a self-adaptive fuzzy control method was proposed in this work，which combines fuzzy control and PID control method. The traditional PID control model and self- adaptive fuzzy PID control model were established by MATLAB software; the temperature of cylinders was simulated and compared. The temperature was set at 200℃.The result of simulation indicated that the self-adaption fuzzy PID controller had realized the real-time temperature control of injection molding machines and met the requirements of smaller overshoot， quick temperature rising and no steady-state error，which compared with traditional PID controller. Above-mentioned results illustrated that the temperature control effectiveness of the self-adaptation fuzzy PID controller was better than the traditional PID controller.

Research on Motion Characteristic of The Clamping Mechanism for Injection Molding Machine Based on Correlated Behaviors

The multi-body dynamic simulation widely used in the current research of the toggle clamping unit of injection molding machine was failed to consider the influence of the elastic strain in the clamping process，and therefore met difficulty to explain the motion characteristic of the moving platen. Based on elasticity theory, a mathematical model of the clamping force was formulated via deformation analysis of mode locked state on the clamping mechanism, the relationship among the joint mechanism stiffness，institutions deformation, and clamping force was revealed. The simulation was carried out using rigid-flexible coupled dynamic mode and rigid mold，the dynamic template speed and displacement curve were obtained. The motion characteristic of the moving platen and the influence on the quality of molding products were explored.

Injection Mould Design for the Controller Shell of the Motor B5 Headlight Based on CAE

According to the requirements of plastic injection process for controller shell of the motor B5 headlight，such as material，structure feature, and key size, two different gating systems were designed. CAE technology was applied to analyze and compare the weld lines，air holes，locking force, warping deformation, plane stress, and other parameters produced by the two gating systems and finally the first one was chosen. Through mould testing and process parameters adj ustment，it confirmed that the injection temperature was 295 0C，injection pressure was 107 MPa，and packing pressure was 77 MPa. Applying these parameters，the products possessed stable quality and reliable precision.
