Abstract: Polyamide 11 (PA11) and its nanocomposites with silica were prepared via in situ polymerization. The nonisothermal crystallization behavior of the materials was investigated using differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) with the data described with Jeziorny and Mo methods. Both Jeziorny and Mo methods described well the primary and secondary crystallization stages. It was found that the crystallization rate of the nanocomposites was lower than that of neat PA11. The activation energy of the nonisothermal crystallizations was calculated based on Huffman-Lauritzen theory, the activation energy of the nanocomposites was smaller than neat PA11.
