Abstract: Based on ANSYS finite element analysis software, steel mesh discrete models were formulated for simulating the mechanical properties of steel skeleton reinforced PE-HD composites. Both Young's and bending moduli of the composites increased with increasing diameter of the steel skeleton and mesh density. The calculated moduli agreed well with the experimental data.
