Abstract: Two kinds of Fe powder with the average particle size of 1μm and 140nm, respectively, were used to modify polyformaldehyde (POM). It showed that the smaller particle size was preferred. The dispersant TAS-2A and coupling agent NDZ-201 could effectively improve the dispersion of Fe powder in POM leading to higher toughness of the composite. When the content of Fe powder was 4%, Izod impact strength of POM/Fe/NDZ-201 blend reached 9.6 kJ/m2, 4.6 kJ/m2 higher than neat POM.
