Abstract: Monomer casting polyamide 6-b-polyether block copolymer/nano-carbon black composites were prepared by in-situ anionic polymerization, and their mechanical properties and non-isothermal crystallization behavior were investigated. Mechanical property test indicated that the toughness and wear resistance of polyamide 6 were significantly improved, but its tensile strength was reduced by the introduction of polyether and carbon black. When the polyether content was 10 %, the impact strength of the composite was 120 %, which was higher than that of neat polyamide 6. When polyether content was 15 %, the wear volume ratio of the composite decreased by 89.7 % compared with neat polyamide 6. Differential scanning calorimetry indicated that with the addition of polyether and nano-carbon black, crystallization peak temperature decreased, and crystallization rate slowed down, and crystallization activation energy reduced. The polyether did not act as a nucleating agent for the polyamide 6.
