Abstract

Abstract: The effects of several halogenfree flame retardants，including hydroxide，intumescent，phosphorsbased，and siliconbased，on polypropylene（PP）were reviewed. It was recognized that synergistic effects could overcome the shortcoming of a single retardant. It was pointed out that developing new flameretarding systems and improving the compatibility between flame retardants and the matrix will be hot topics in the future.
