Abstract

Abstract: The general situations of domestic poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC) industry and market in the year 2007 were introduced including the domestic supply and demand situation of calcium carbide, crude salt, and their effects on the related PVC production. The relationship between the industrial situation
and the national policy was discussed;a turning point in the caustic soda industry was expected in the near future. Some consideration was made on the environmental issues and sustainable development of domestic PVC industry.
