Abstract: In-situ composites of poly( ethylene tcrcphthalatc)(PET) and polypropylcnc(PP) were prc-pared using a twin-rotor continuous mixer. The effects of temperature, composition, shear rate, and rhcological behavior on PET fibrillation was investigated. The relationship between compatibility and
fibrillation was discussed. The influence of PET mass content on the tensile strength of the composites was also explored. It showed that the fibrillation of PET phase in the PP matrix improved the tensile strength of the composites.
