Abstract: Gradient interference film formed by overlaying films with different thickness was investigated using self-made equipment. It showed that the reflected wavelength range by the films was mainly determined by its thickness. With increasing optical thickness, the maximum reflecting wavelength shifted from shorter to longer wave. As the layer of the gradient film increased, the reflection band became wider. The gradient interference film exhibited a temperature difference of 8 ℃ compared with ordinary glass under infrared lamp radiation.
