Effect of Halloysite Nano-Tubes on Properties and Phase Morphology of PA66/TLCP In Situ Composites

Abstract: PA66/TLCP/HNTs composites were prepared by melt blending. Dynamic mechanical thermal properties, crystallization behavior and morphology of the composites were investigated. DSC test showed that small part of TLCP promoted the crystallization. When the content of HNTs increased to 40 %, the storage modulus of the composites was increased by 188 %. SEM observation of the cryogenically fractured surface showed that HNTs and TLCP micro-fibrils were well dispersed in PA66 matrix.
