Abstract: Three flame retardants, organophosphate, decabromdiphenylethane, and inorganic hydroxide were introduced separately into PET/PA blends and their glow wire property, flame retardancy, and the mechanical property were compared. The glow wire property, scanning electronic microscope and the mechanical test showed that the glow wire property was the best and the glow wire property was less than 2 second when a mixture of decabromdiphenylethane and phosphoric acid esters were used. PA6 played a positive role for the glow wire property. When the content of glycidyl methacrylate was 7 %, the blend exhbited optimal comprehensive mechanical properties.
