Research progress in application of aerogel in flame retardant field

Abstract

Abstract: This paper reviewed the research progress in the application of silicone-aerogels， organic aerogels， and carbon aerogels in the flame-retardant field. The characteristics of aerogels and corresponding flame-retardant modification technologies as well as their effects on the flame retardancy of materials were summarized. The advantages， disadvantages， and future development trend of various aerogels are discussed.
