Liquid Chromatographic Determination of DCPD-phenol Antioxidants and Their Application Research for Isotactic Polypropylene

Abstract: Five DCPD-phenol antioxidants were synthesized from p-cresol and dicyclopentadiene(DCPD), and separated effectively by HPLC. Thermogravimetric analysis (TG), melt flow index (MFI), and oxidation onset temperature (OOT) were employed to characterize the stability of PP containing the antioxidants. With same amount of antioxidant, the stability of PP decreased with increasing degree of polymerization of the antioxidant.
