Mixing Effect of Twin-rotor Continuous Mixer with Different Rotors

摘要: 采用三维绘图软件PRO/E对双转子连续混炼机的转子进行了结构设计,利用GAMBIT对其进行网格划分及边界条件设定,并运用有限元流体分析软件POLYFLOW对转子部分的混炼过程进行了模拟分析,比较了转子转过不同角度时沿轴向距离的剪切速率、平均速度、黏度以及压力。分析得出,螺棱交汇点位置在其长度方向1/3处的转子存在着很明显的反向压力,即可以产生明显的有利于混炼的反向流动。该研究将有助于优化转子结构,从而进一步提高混炼效果。

Abstract: In this study, the rotor structure of twin-rotor continuous mixer was designed with the PRO/Engineer software. The meshing and the setting of boundary conditions were made by the GAMBIT. The mixing processes with different rotors were simulated by POLYFOW, and the shear rate, the average velocity, the viscosity and the pressure in the axial direction were compared when the rotors rotate to different angle. Finally, it is found that the rotor whose meeting point of the screw flight at its 1/3 length position has obvious back pressure, which was beneficial to the counter flow of the mixing. This study is helpful to optimize the structure of the rotor and improve the mixing effect.
