Abstract: The classical particle packed bed model equation of Ergun in dynamics of fluids in porous media was introduced. Under the same pressure drop and same aperture condition, using finite element analysis software ANSYS, the simulated permeation rate through particles in cubic and hexagonal packing were compared. Based on simulation and experiments, the powder packing model in powdersintered PEUHMW microporous tube was analyzed for various permeation rates and apertures. It showed that the formation of microporous in powdersintered PEUHMW pipe was mostly through hexagonal closepacked structure of powder particles.
