Abstract: Polypropylene was melt grafted with 2-trimethyla immonium ethyl methacrylate chloride(DMC)and styrene(St). When the content of initiator ( dicumyl peroxide, DCP) was 0.6 phr, molar ratio of DMC and St was 1:1, a maximum grafting of DMC was achieved. The tensile and impact strength of the grafted PP were similar to neat PP. During cry istallization, the nucleation density and the total crystallization rate of the grafted PP were larger, the half time of crystallization ( t1/2) was shorter and the crystallization temperature( Tc) was higher than neat PP.
