Abstract: Composites based。,:sisal fibers(SF)and lightly acctylatcd sisal fibers(ASF) were prepared via extrusion and compression molding. The thermal and mechanical properties and the fiber length in the composites were studied. Both SF and ASF improved the tensile and bending properties of the matrix. Because the acetylation improved the interface bonding and the flexibility, the composites based on ASF exhibited higher impact strength and elongation at break than those based on SF, however, at prices of tensile strength and modulus.
