Abstract: A series of methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene copolymer (MBS), in which polybutadienc(PB) particles were grafted with St and methyl methacrylate (MMA), was synthesized via emulsion polymerization. The obtained MBS was blended with PMMA forming blends. The mechanical properties and morphology of PMMA/MBS blends were studied. It was found that the impact strength of blends increased and then decreased with increasing PB content in MBS. When the PB content in MBS was 50 %, the impact strength was 200 J/m. The morphology of the blends showed that the dispersion of MBS in the PMMA matrix became poorer with decreasing degree of grafting of PB.
