Abstract: Poly(propylene carbonate)/clay and PPC/ Ethylene-vinyl alcohol (EVOH) /clay nanocom- posites were prepared by melt blending. Rheological behavior, morphology and barrier resistance of PPC nanocomposites were investigated. Results illuminated that composites prepared by higher molecular weight of PPC resin, its complex viscosity, storage modulus and elastic modulus show higher values. With the addition of clay and PE-g-MAH, complex viscosity and modulus of PPC/EVOH composites were increased. The interfacial action among PPC, EVOH and clay was enhanced with the addition PE-g-MAH. By the introduction of clay and PE-g-MAH, both the compatibility and barrier resistance of PPC and EVOH composites increased significantly.
