Abstract: The applications of absorbing coating in daily life and national defense was introduced in this paper. The materials used in recent years were reviewed. The properties and research work of the coating materials were discussed in detail, where in the rubbers were mainly silicon rubber and EPDM, plastics were mainly polyurethane foam, polymethcrylimide foam and polystyrene foam. The future developing direction of the absorbing coating was proposed.
