Influence of Microwave Irradiation on Properties of PP/Nano-TiO2 Composites

摘要: 采用熔融共混法制备了聚丙烯(PP)/纳米TiO2复合材料,通过力学性能测试、红外光谱、偏光显微镜、扫面电子显微镜和透射电子显微镜等分析手段研究了微波辐照对PP/纳米TiO2复合材料性能的影响。结果表明,母粒经过微波辐照之后,PP/纳米TiO2复合材料的拉伸强度和屈服强度基本保持不变,断裂伸长率大幅度提高;结晶度提高近20 %,晶粒尺寸变大,但结晶速率并没有改变;红外分析表明,在PP/纳米TiO2复合材料中引入了极性基团,改善了两相的相容性,使复合材料的力学性能提高。

Abstract: In this paper, PP/nano-TiO2 composites were prepared via melt blending, the properties of the composites were analyzed by means of mechanical tests, infrared spectroscopy, POM, SEM, and TEM, and then the influence of microwave irradiation on the properties of PP/nano-TiO2 composites was studied. It showed that after the PP master-batch was irradiated by microwave, the elongation at break greatly improved without decreasing the tensile and yield strengths, the degree of crystallinity increased by nearly 20 %, the crystal grain size increased, and crystallization rate had no changes. Infrared spectrum showed that some polar groups were brought into PP/nano-TiO2 composite; thereby the compatibility between the two-phases was improved, which was considered the reason for the improvement of the properties.
