Study on dispersivity of nano-silica in process of preparation of filled silicone rubber membranes

Abstract: Using PET as the support, nano-carbon white filled polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as the dermic layer, a separation membrane for separating ethanol from water was prepared. The factors effecting on the dispersion of nano-carbon white in silicone rubber was studied. It was found that an amount of ES and heptane may improve the dispersion of nano-carbon white. When the 5 wt % of nano-carbon white was introduced, the tensile strength of PDMS film increased from 0.368 to 1.828 MPa.
