Abstract

Abstract: The research progress in intumescent flame retardants was reviewed. Flameretardant mechanism of intumescent flame retardant was described briefly. The research progress, main products, and application of multi and singlecomponent(s) intumescent flame retardant were introduced. The disadvantages of intumescent flame retardant such as inferior compatibility, moisture absorption, and theoretical loading in polymers were analyzed. The surface modification, microencapsulation, and ultrafine were development direction in the future.
