Abstract: Commercial recycled high density polyethylene (PE-HD) was characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis, and their rheological and mechanical properties were also studied. During the recycling processing, the structure of recycled PE-HD changed obviously. Carbonyl groups on the chains increased, the melt flow rate and mechanical properties decreased as a result of aging. According to tensile strength, recycled PE-HD could be divided into three grades.
