Abstract: In this paper, fused deposition modeling (FDM) and selective laser sintering (SLS) were employed to prepare 3D printed polyamide 12 samples. The effect of orientation in 3D printing on samples was studied and compared with injection molded ones. The tensile strength and elongation at break of FMD samples could be 56.3 % and 60.9 % of those for injection molded ones, respectively. In contrast, the tensile strength of SLS samples was greater than 90 % of injection molded ones, however, the elongation at break was below 10 % of injection molded ones.
