Abstract

Abstract: The effect of the loading and particle size of pearl shell powder on the mechanical properties of PPwas investigated.Whenthe content of pearl shell powder ( average particle size 3.4 um) was 10wt%，the tensile strength ofPP increased bv 2.81 %，flexural modulus by 21.34 %,and impact strength by 66.14%，compared wih neat PP. The improvement caused bv pearl shell powder was better than that by calcium carbonate and talc.
