Abstract: Chitosan was grafted on the surface of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) by UV radiation and wet chemical method for bacteriostasis and disinfection. Compared with the unmodified PEEK, the hydrophilicity of grafted PEEK film was increased. It showed that chitosan was successfully grafted on the surface of PEEK by SEM and XPS. In addition, the degree of grafting of chitosan on the surface of the material increased with increasing chitosan concentration.
