Research progress in metal compounds with different microstructures as flame retardant synergists

Abstract: This review paper focused on the metal compounds-based flame-retardant synergists with various specific microstructures, such as layered double hydroxides, metal-organic frameworks, core-shell structural compounds, and nanoscale metal compounds, and the applications of these synergists in polymers were reviewed. In addition, the application system based on the microstructure-synergy efficiency-synergy mechanism was prospected.
