Abstract: Processability of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC)/diallyl phthalate (DAP) resin compounds was evaluated by a torque rheometer, and the effect of DAP loading on the processing performance of the compounds was investigated. The results indicated that the compounds had excellent processing properties due to the incorporation of DAP, and the plasticizing time, balance torques, maximum torques and balance temperature of the compounds were reduced significantly with increasing DAP content. A mechanical investigation indicated that the tensile strength and elongation at break of the compounds were also enhanced.
