Abstract: This article reviewed the latest progresses in intrinsic thermally conductive thermoplastic polymers and specially analyzed the effects of molecular chain, crystallinity, orientation, hydrogen bonding, temperature and processing methods on thermal conductivity of thermoplastic polymers. Numerous studies indicated that thermal conductivity could be enhanced by improving the order of polymer microstructures, reducing the phonon interface scattering and extending the average free path of phonon transfer. The future development of intrinsic thermally conductive polymers was also proposed.
